Faith Eugenia Villar-Córdova Scott began her piano studies at age of 4. At the age of 5, she won her first International Piano Competition. Since then, she has received First Prizes at many international piano competitions which include the Clara Schumann International Music Competition (2024), Fanny Mendelssohn International Music Competition (2024), Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition (2024), The Royal International Piano Competition (2023), the Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition (2021, 2023), and the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition (2022 & 2024) among others. In August 2024 she was named as a winner of the Bill Riley Talent Search, and her performance was broadcast on Iowa PBS.
Ms. Scott has received scholarships to attend both the Palmetto International Piano Festival (2023) and the Sewanee Music Festival (2024) as the youngest participant. In August 2023 at the age of 7, she made her debut with orchestra playing a complete Haydn Concerto in C Major in Miami, Florida. In November of 2024, she returned to perform the Mozart Concerto No. 8 in C Major K. 246. Both performances were under the baton of Maestro Alberto Bade.
Ms. Scott made her debut in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in December of 2023 performing works by Bach, Dussek and Persichetti. Faith also studies the violin with Prof. Monica Lugo and Cello with Prof. Michele Senger. She continues her piano studies with Dr. Marion and Rosa Scott and performs regularly at student recitals and community concerts.
Audrey Janssen is 17 and a senior in high school from Indianola, IA.
She has been playing piano for 11 years and studies with Rosa Scott.
She was the winner of the 2024 IMTA Des Moines District and the
Lincoln Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Concerto Competition, and
will be performing with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra in March 2025.
Audrey works as a piano teacher and accompanist around the Des Moines area. She will be attending Hillsdale College in the fall and plans to major in piano performance and voice.
Carson Menke is a student at Norwalk High School where he plays percussion in the school marching, concert, and jazz bands. As a percussionist he specializes in marimba performance, specifically in four mallet literature. He has performed internationally in six countries and has been selected for both the Iowa All-State Band and Iowa All-State Orchestra. Carson has also performed in honor bands and ensembles such as the All-Iowa 8th Grade Honor Band, SCIBA honor band, ISU honor percussion ensemble, Drake Honors Wind Ensemble, Drake Honor Jazz Band, and Little Hawkeye Conference Honor Band.
He has received multiple outstanding soloist awards and received school board medals of honor for his selection in the Iowa All-State Music Festival. Additionally, he has performed as a percussionist with the Des Moines Choral Society and Central Iowa Symphony. Carson has studied percussion for seven years, working with Daniel Krumm throughout his three years of studying four-mallet marimba, and has additionally worked with Robert Meunier of Drake University and Jeff Heltman.
