Central Iowa Symphony History

CIS was formed in Sept 1987, and grew out of the Octagon Orchestra. 

Concert Conversations (pre-concert talks) began in 1999, and were held in the Ames City Council Chambers.

The first CIS Summer Pops concert was held in the summer 2000.
